A new car hood ornament.
One of the goats wasn’t acting right - not eating, lethargic, shaking from the cold. I thought she was sick, so I set her up in the garage where it was warmer, put down some hay, and tied her to the lally column. When I came back to check on her, she was standing on the hood of my father-in-law’s car. She had been using it as a jungle gym. Guess she wasn’t as sick as I thought.

What's a lally column?

Love the story, and the picture isn't baaaahd either....

A lally column is a round metal pole that helps hold up the roof. Our garage was really wide with an in-law apartment above it, so it needed the extra support.

Seems like you learned animal husbandry in a trial by fire.

Still learning. It's a long process. The one thing I'm sure of: life is too short to own an animal that doesn't like people.

Joanne, I agree with that, it's just not worth it. (unless, of course, they're for food, I suppose)

Animals raised for food is a different relationship. All of our animals are pets.
