They're often seen on the dashboard of Jeep brand vehicles.

That's because the Jeep dealership gives the vehicle owner a duck each time they bring the vehicle in for service. So if you see a Jeep with 8 ducks on the dashboard, that means the person has owned it for about ... 3 months.

(No, not really. It's a worldwide audience here, so I should explain how that's a joke about Jeep vehicles being unreliable. The Jeep owners I tell the joke to don't consider it to be funny.)
