No day is the right day to lose a friend, but New Year's Eve would make it a bit harder.

I am sorry that you lost a dear friend on New Year's Eve. This is a very nice puzzle. I like how you covered both times with puzzles. My interpretation was midnight so as to give us puzzle solvers an idea of how others celebrate the start of the new year.

I understand that loss. I have a grandson who was raised by his dad who told him one monstrous lie after another and had him believing we were terrible people to avoid at all costs. When he got old enough my grandson looked us up, and even though he learned how his dad misled him, we will never be close. Too much damage.

it's never too late to forgive the past and start again...you never know. It's plenty normal to make a phone call at the holidays sending well wishes and go from there. only thing you know for certain is what happens if you don't make an effort. (which is a whole lotta nothing, except regret)

It's funny,when Niki found out we were pregnant,she said she wouldn't drink alcohol during the pregnancy.I of course said I wouldn't drink alcohol either. We decided to have a few Molson Canadians for Christmas and New Years. They sure have tasted great after a long absence. Enjoy your Corona's Kurt.:)

Well I called my son to wish him Happy B-day,but had to leave a message. I called my nephew Rick to wish him a Happy New Year and I had a nice talk with him. He told me my son Brad is in Peterborough visiting his in-laws. They are wonderful people and have always been great with Brad. I tried calling my daughter but her home # and cell #,are no longer in service. I will try to get her new # from my son when he returns.:)

That's a great start, that you were able to connect with your nephew! I hope your kids will find some compassion and forgive you for falling in love and starting a new family.
