Why do you always have to fill in the dots? Why can't it recognize the solution regardless? The controls are finicky as it is, I don't want to have to deal with this.

Is there any option for this?

And if there isn't, I would really appreciate it if you could add this.

Thanks in advance!

Development has stopped on this as the creator passed away in 2015. However, there are ways around your problem.

If you are using the default controls of cycling through the colors, I agree that they are clunky. You can change them on the Settings page (from the menu bar on the left). I personally use the left mouse-button to paint the chosen color, the right mouse-button to paint the background color (white - or dotted), and the middle mouse button to choose the left mouse-button's color.

If you don't want to fill in large areas of background, you can press "S" to save. If there are only white spaces left, it will save and congratulate you.

Niko, have you read through the FAQ section. There a a lot of solving tips and suggestions. Well worth a read or at least a browse.

In addition to the controls Joe mentioned, I use the H and V keys a lot to fill in the row or column. They work if you have the same color on either end of the current mouse position, or if there is an edge on one side, or if the entire row/column is either a single color or completely blank.
