Very nice for a first. Would love to see more.

Congratulations on a fine first effort!

Thanks - I thought I ought to finally pay my dues and create one instead of just solving everyone else's puzzles. I will try to make the next picture a little more complex!

nicely done! :)

after line logic leaves an unsolved square at the top, I don't see any moderate lookahead to continue with. Edge logic on the 5 in c15 gives us nothing. The horizontal clues are too small to help with internal edge logic on the 3 or 2 in r2.

el on the 5 in c6 only narrows it down to two positions; r1-5 or r5-9. Combining that with two-way logic (thus deep-lookahead) makes c7r8-9 white. but no successive line logic.

Maybe I'm being dense tonight, but I don't see a way to logically finish this.

seb, on the page where you create your puzzles, near the bottom there is a box with the word check written inside it. While you are creating your puzzle, it's good idea to click on this box from time to time as it will tell you if your puzzle has solving problems. It will also tell you when your puzzle is problem free which makes for a nicer solve.

Nice first puzzle but I had to guess at the top

I can't wait to see you spread your wings as you grow as a puzzle maker. ^-^

Ha, Aurelian. I will try to improve for the next time!

As you make more, you'll figure out the little steps, like checking for solvability *before* you mark it ready to solve. And always make sure you can solve it yourself, before you publish! Many times, if I get bogged down in a solve, I'll just add another black square to make it easier. It's a balancing act, between the picture you want and a satisfying solve. :)

I got exactly as far as Joe did, and can't see a way forward either.

here's my attempt at minimizing look-ahead after LL:

- whether C8R7 or C8R8, C7R8 is a dot
- whether C8R1 or C8R3 is black, C7R6 is black
- whether C15R2 or C15R6 is black, C14R6 is a dot
- whether C14R1 or C14R2 is black, C12R1 is a dot
- LL to end

i'm thinking there's an extra step in the middle of most of these enough to trigger joe to declare deep look-ahead ;)
