Since they left the doors open, could they have also forgotten to lock the wheels on the stretcher? Hang on tight every time they start moving - you don't want your stretcher to be leftover the road and under the bumper of the following car! Are you sure that the leftovers were only a week old? That's kind of like my wife's idea of a good way to discourage people from overstaying their visit. Have the dog lick a plate clean, and decide (in the hearing of the target) that the plate is clean enough to just go back in the cupboard without additional washing.
