And while I wouldn't call it a masterpiece, The Great Dictator was amusing and heartwarming. (A poor Jewish barber is mistaken for German dictator Adenoid Hynkel)

We sang this in my senior musical, which was a 1920s revue (even though it was written in the '30s and lyrics weren't added until the '50s, but who's counting?). "Smile" was an attempt to raise spirits during the Great Depression. Another such song was "Ain't We Got Fun?" "I lost my money, Oh but Honey, Ain't we got fun?"#11: Kai-Uwe Zickerick (conzick) on Jan 21, 2013
