Puzzle Description:

The first book that I ever read completely on my own was Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss. I remember how proud my parents were. The next morning, my mom actually cooked me green eggs and ham to celebrate the accomplishment.

I'm going to need a hint to solve. I'm done with line and color logic, have placed a few dots on the 6 C1 and others on the 5 C13 R24.
#8: bugaboo (bugaboo) on Feb 21, 2012
after line logic
i used edge logic on the 3 clue in r1 to dot c37-38 (you only need the dot in c37 though)
more line logic
at this point r1-4 and c15-45 should be completely filled in
edge logic on the 6 clue in c1 to dot r11-15
more line logic

i am sure there is something i am missing to solve the rest of this but i felt stuck
i will try later when i have another minute (hour) to spend on this puzzle

Fun color logic, and excellent ham!

Fox in Socks was my favorite Seuss book. :)
#10: Jota (jota) on Feb 21, 2012
Ok! I did it! I tired placing the 2 in C2 and voila!
Thanks for your entry David.
#11: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on Feb 22, 2012 [HINT]
glad you all like it. here's my solve guide:

line and color logic leaves 50 unknown spots in C13-45 and places all red and green...and a smattering of other stuff. from that point these steps with line logic in between should be all you need:

- EL the 3 in R1 to dot C37R1
- EL the 6 in C1 to dot C1R11-15
- whether C7R15 or C9R15 is black, black C4R13
- whether C2R11 or C3R11 is black, dot C5,7R12 and C8R13

i'm sure there are other ways...this is just what i did.
#12: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on Feb 22, 2012
that did some time to solve, no guessing :)
#13: bugaboo (bugaboo) on Feb 22, 2012
thanks for the tips
i was almost there
you are one of the best at figuring out those not-very-well seen two-way logic steps
how do you do it?
#14: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on Feb 23, 2012
I think I just obsess over it longer than most people...looking for the next move...

"what are the possible ways this can go?"
"what are the results of each?"
"were any of the results consistent?"

i assume it's the same as everybody else...i just pick at it for longer than i should.
#15: Teresa K (fasstar) on Feb 23, 2012
Well that took a long time to solve. But so worth the effort. Nice image and wonderful memory-story.
#16: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on Feb 23, 2012
Thanks Teresa.
#17: Vaggelis Kamaris (evag7651) on Jun 4, 2013
terrific. no guessing.
#18: derby (Derby) on Dec 20, 2020 [HINT]
Excellent. I know it was me, but for the longest time I kept seeing a duck floating in the water. Makes me want to create a couple duck pictures. The key to solving it to find out where the six can go in the first column.

excellent rendition of the titular meal. Looks just like it!
