Hey everyone,

I've been thinking for awhile about an interactive sort of game that everyone can play on this site, but I wanted to put the word out and get some feedback before I initiate it. Have you heard of the writing game where one person starts a story and then they pass it on to someone else? That person then writes the next part and so on and so forth until the story is concluded. We could totally do that with web pbn!

I've seen tons of stories split into parts that one person publishes. Do you guys think it would be fun to do that here? One person starts the story by posting a puzzle depicting the first few sentences or paragraph of the story, and then it is out of their hands. The next person depicts part 2, again only a few sentences or a paragraph at most, and it gets passed on like so until it finds itself wrapping up.

However, it does need to be organized, or we're going to have chaos. There may be 5 part 2s, and part 4 may wait 3 weeks before anyone does anything. If anyone is interested in playing, I could start with part 1 for the first story (assuming we do more than 1 - assuming we do even 1!) and we could discuss in this forum who could take the next part and the next part and so on. Also, anyone is welcome to initiate their own story.

To keep cohesion, I recommend that the titles of the puzzles are the same except for ending with a different part number. To explain, it could follow this format:

Example Title: Part 1
Example Title: Part 2
...
Example Title: Part 10 (Conclusion)

We did something along this line in one of our contests. One of the judges picked the size of a puzzle and the number of colors, then filled in some random squares. We then had to use our imaginations to make a picture around the filled in squares. I thought it was a lot of fun. Tom O'Connell provided the starting puzzle in #22990 and the winners can be seen in the Honors section WCP #141. By looking at puzzles with titles of WCP #141 that follow 22990 you can see other entries.

Sounds like fun. Count me in.
